GAP MANAGEMENT
SCHEME:
SITUATION: Wanting to take a year off after A Levels, Btech or GNVQs before going to university.
This scheme
lasts for six months in stores and starts in early September. It is designed to give you a taste of work
before you go to university.
You will have an
insight into the three store management areas,
Commercial, Personnel and
Financial.
SUMMER PLACEMENT
SCHEME:
SITUATION: Looking for a Summer placement at the end of
your second year at university.
This scheme is a
chance to experience a management career at first hand, and it will be a chance for you to show your
potential for a future career with Marks and Spencer. The scheme lasts for 9 weeks and you will be expected to give a
presentation and deliver a report which will have commercial value to your
store.
BUSINESS
PLACEMENT SCHEME:
SITUATION: Looking for a placement which will satisfy your Retail or International Retail degree.
This scheme fits
the Bournemouth Course ideally, it is
an opportunity to spend six months working in a store in one of the roles
described or in a head office position.
You will have real opportunity from the start and you will be encouraged
to take control.
The scheme is very popular and you must be prepared to take control as the store staff will see you as a manager and therefore you must be prepared to behave like one.
